Esperanza 2026

Background

Tlay Maak Tsu is the place name of what is now called Esperanza, a boat-in community located between Tahsis and Zeballos on the northwest side of Vancouver Island.  Esperanza ministers to these remote communities along the coast.

Central has a long history working with Esperanza and the surrounding communities.   This continues, as Central plans to send two teams this year to Esperanza, a Young Adults team and a Multigenerational team. The teams will be completing a variety of work projects onsite.

Overview of project

The projects will include completion of the inside and exterior of McLean house. There will be wiring, installing insulation and exterior siding, equipment maintenance, greenhouse planting, painting, chopping wood and building construction work. There is never a shortage of work for at Esperanza.
