Opportunities to Serve

As you get to know your way around Central, you'll discover there are lots of ways to get involved and use your skills to support our ministries. Contact the church office for more information.

Sunday Worship Service

From Children's Ministries to behind the scenes, we rely on volunteers. We are always looking for people interested in tech support (sound, computer, camera), greeting, ushering, providing coffee and tea, and being a parkade attendant, to name a few areas. If you would like to help, contact the office.

Children's Ministries

If you love children and are interested in being a caregiver or teacher, we're looking for helpers to be on a monthly rotation in the following areas:

  • Baby nursery (0-12 months)
  • Toddler nursery (1 to 2 1/2 years)
  • Preschool (2 1/2 to 4 years)
  • Kindergarden to Grade 6

In order to create a safe environenment, all children's workers are required to obtain a criminal record check (forms available through the church office), complete an application, and read Central's "Plan to Protect Policy" prior to working with children.

Events

We host big events throughout the year and need volunteers to help with set up, clean up, food service, dish pit, greeting, leading small group activities, sound and video, etc. These events include Urban Adventures, Thanksgiving Banquet, Fall Festival, and Family Christmas Party. Before each event, sign up sheets will be available at the Info Desk, or you can call the church office to find out our current needs.

Community Schools

We’ve partnered with George Jay Elementary and Quadra schools to assist with programs supporting kids.

  • Toast Club – make toast and serve the students. Mondays 8:15 – 9:00 am at George Jay; Mondays and Thursdays 8:00 – 9:00 am at Quadra.
  • Reading one-on-one. Help students learn reading skills. (George Jay)

Contact the church office if you would like to help in any of these areas.

Building Maintenance

Central is a large building and there is always something that needs attention… anything from testing emergency lights and replacing bulbs and batteries, to painting, to small repairs. If you are handy, we have a job for you!

Serve Our City

Twice a year on a Saturday morning, we invite our community to join us in service projects throughout the city. Watch the calendar of events for the next opportunity, or contact the church office.
