At Central, our vision is to renew our community through the gospel. We believe that community includes everywhere God gives us opportunity to love, serve, and share the hope of Jesus – both here in Victoria and around the world.
Global Engagement is how we support God's work beyond the ministries of Central. Through partnerships with missionaries and ministry organizations in Canada and around the world, we participate in what God is doing through prayer, financial support, encouragement, and, whenever possible, serving alongside them.
We value meaningful partnerships built on ongoing prayer, communication, mutual encouragement and accountability as we work together to make Christ known.
Our Missionaries
Some of our missionaries serve in sensitive parts of the world where sharing information publicly could put their ministry or personal safety at risk. To protect them, we do not post updates about our missionaries on our websites.
We regularly share mission updates and prayer requests with our church family during the morning service.
Central currently partners with missionaries and ministries through various organizations, including:
Esperanza Short-Term Mission Trips
Central has a long history of serving alongside Esperanza Ministries Association at Tlay Maak Tsu (Esperanza), a boat-access community on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island. Esperanza serves people living in remote communities throughout the surrounding area.
This summer, Central is sending a multigenerational team to Esperanza. Team members will serve alongside the ongoing work at Esperanza by helping with construction, maintenance, gardening, painting, and other practical projects.
Date: August 27–30
Contact Dave Miller at drcmiller.accts@gmail.com or the church office for more information.

El Salvador Mission Trip
Central is returning to El Salvador from October 31 to November 8, 2026 to serve alongside Shelter, a Christian organization working with Salvadoran communities to provide safe homes for families in need and share the hope of Jesus.
This will be Central's second team to serve with Shelter. In 2025, a team of 14 people from Central travelled to El Salvador, where they worked alongside Shelter staff and local families to build 14 homes in three communities. The experience was about much more than building houses. Team members built relationships, heard families' stories, prayed together, and saw God at work in the lives of the people they met and within their own team.
This year, our team will continue that partnership by helping to fund and build 15 more homes.

Ahousaht Short-Term Mission Trip
Central supports mission partners serving in Ahousaht, on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
We are exploring the possibility of sending a short-term mission team to Ahousaht to serve alongside the work already taking place in the community.
Plans are still being developed. If you may be interested in being part of the team, please complete the Ahousaht Short-Term Mission Trip Interest Form. Completing the form does not commit you to participating; it will help us gauge interest and keep you informed as more details become available.
Short-Term Missions Financial Support
Short-term mission experiences can be an opportunity to serve alongside others, learn from another community, grow in your faith, and explore how God may be calling you to serve.
Central offers financial support to eligible members and regular attenders who are participating in short-term mission opportunities. Priority is given to opportunities connected with Central's mission partners, ministries supported or endorsed by Central, and experiences that may help someone explore a longer-term call to missions.
If you are considering a short-term mission trip and would like to apply for financial assistance, please review the guidelines before completing an application. They explain the purpose of the fund, eligibility requirements, and how funding decisions are made.
