Statement of Faith
6) Creation
We believe in the Genesis account of the creation and that it is
to be accepted literally and not allegorically or figuratively -
that man was created directly in God's own image and after his own
likeness - that man's creation was not a matter of evolution; that
all animal and vegetable life was made directly, and God's established
law was that they should bring forth only "after their kind".

1:11-25
7) The Fall of Man
We believe that man was created in innocence under the law of his
maker, but by voluntary transgression fell from his sinless and
happy state , and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual
life, becoming dead in trespasses and sins. We believe that this
spiritual death has been transmitted to the entire human race of
man, and that every child of Adam is born into the world with a
sinful nature. Man is a sinner by nature and by practice and is,
therefore, under the just condemnation of God.

3) Rom. 5:12-21
8) The Atonement for Sin
We believe that the salvation of sinners is entirely of grace through
the Lord Jesus Christ, who was sent by the Father, freely took upon
Himself our nature yet without sin, honoured the divine law by His
personal obedience, and that by His death, the shedding of his precious
blood, He made a full atonement for our sins. We believe His atonement
consisted not in setting us an example by His death as a martyr,
but rather by His giving Himself as a voluntary substitute in the
sinner's place, the just dying for the unjust , bearing our sins
in His own body on the tree. We believe that Christ, having risen
from the dead, is now enthroned in heaven and is in every way qualified
to be a suitable, compassionate, and all sufficient Saviour.

9) The New Birth
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be born again
- that the new birth is a new creation in Christ Jesus and that
it is instantaneous and not a process. In the new birth the one
dead in trespasses and sins is made a partaker of the divine nature
and receives eternal life, the free gift of God. We believe this
is brought about solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through
divine truth, so as to secure our voluntary obedience to the gospel.
Its proper evidence appears in the holy fruits of repentance, faith,
and newness of life.

10) Justification
We believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ secures to
all who believe in Him is justification, and that justification
includes the pardon of sin, and the gift of eternal life. We believe
that justification is given not because of any works of righteousness
which we have done, but through faith alone in Christ, His righteousness
is imputed to us.
